(Apr. 11, 2003) - People attending tomorrow's
groundbreaking activities for the new multipurpose
stadium at 10 a.m. in Glendale will be directed to the
parking area south of the event site. Glendale Police
have requested that visitors exit the 101 at Camelback
Road and travel north on 91st Avenue to just north of
Bethany Home Road, where they will be directed into the
parking area.

A trolley will be available to shuttle people from the
lot to the event. There will also be a cart for
disabled visitors.

Complimentary water, soft drinks, and snacks will be
provided for visitors.

For general security, game-day stadium gate screening
will be in effect meaning that all bags will be subject
to search.

(Note to editors: Special media parking will be in the
north parking area. Media members are requested to
exit the 101 at Glendale and travel south on 91st
Avenue where they will be directed into the north lot.)

I'm pissed. Cards sent me the contact name at the TSA to get press okay and I did nothing. Now I've got to ride a "cart". Better work.

No more Maui experiences where they took me off the plane in my wheelchair by forklift!

Seriously, I'm psyched. A lot of us - a lot of you - fought this stadium battle long and hard. I'm going to enjoy tomorrow and take refuge in a bar at noon and drink three beers.

One each to celebrate beating Skippy (mayor of Phoenix), ex-state senator Scott Bundguard (beaten in his last election), and one beer celebrating the guts of that Tucson legislator who swung the TSA bill into majority.

I just returned from the Groundbreaking site in Glendale. It is going to be a great program.

Here are a few tips:

Go early. There are six sets of bleachers for seating. If the bleachers are full, there is a huge Daktronics board that will be carrying the TV feed. These are the same type of boards that are used in the newer stadiums such as Invesco Field in Denver and Seahawks Stadium in Seattle. The resolution is unbelievable!

There are restroom trailers available. It is kind of dusty, so don't wear your best kickers. Also, I would advise you to wear a hat and sunscreen.

I was excited to see the area, and the program is going to be entertaining. They even have a nice 30-40 yd sodded football field that will stage a Pop Warner scrimmage!

See you there!

Not a bad idea...... You think we should try and meet up with some of the posters on this board to celebrate?

What?
Jim, Will the feed be streamed for a later look? I was all set and took the original day off from work. Now I'm hosed and can't make it. I'm bummed. Any chance of a stream?

Will you and the fellas be masked or unmasked?

I'm not sure yet, but probably not. We'll see. I'll have on an Avenger shirt for sure, but I don't know if I'll wear the mask. The masks have been sitting in a tub in my truck since last season, so I can't imagine they smell all that great.

See you tomorrow!!!!! I can't wait!!!

You best be in mask. That is a sure fire way to get on TV. I hope to see you there!

So if were gunna have a few beerz, there is a good pizza place just down the road, called BROTHERS PIZZA

(107th ave & Indian school, North west shopping mall, behind the Mobile...)

That has good pizza and ICE COLD GLASS PITCHERS for $5 bucks...

The have Bud Budlight, Amber bock, and Michleobe ULTRA(for those that dont NEED the extra carbs like me) all on draft, pluss many others in bottles...

Even though I am just getting home from work at 5am, I plan on being there at 930 or so...

*Darn* I better slam this beer and get to bed...

My Sister and Brother-in-law (a fellow Avenger) live right down the street from there. I always eat there. Good wings. Sounds like a plan.
