St. Pauli strive for permanent purchase of Morgan Guilavogui

Morgan Guilavogui appears set to become a permanent Bundesliga fixture. The Hamburger Abendblatt reports that the 27-year-old’s current loan club, St. Pauli, wishes to purchase the attacker outright from RC Lens. Guilavogui has firmly established himself with Alexander Blessin’s Kiezkicker, scoring six goals and registering three assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.

The German newspaper notes that Guilavogui finds himself very comfortable in German football and wishes to plant down roots. Morgan’s older brother Joshua captained VfL Wolfsburg for five seasons and made a total of 218 Bundesliga appearances during his decade spent playing for Wolfsburg and Mainz. Both brothers enjoy immense popularity in the German footballing press and public.

Purchasing Guilavogui permanently may nevertheless not prove so simple. Lens do not wish to lose their player. A complex loan arrangement saw the Ligue 1 outfit obtain €500,000 loan fee and a guaranteed buyback clause. This doesn’t necessarily preclude the possibility of a deal, though the two sides may wish to renegotiate a buyback sum.
