CEDAR FALLS, Ia. (News-Press NOW) — The St. Joseph Goats continue their winning streak by beating the Iowa Woo 74-22 on the road.
The 2-0 Goats faced the 0-2 Woo at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Saturday, June 13.
The Goats entered the game with a new quarterback, Josh White. Previous signal-caller Angelo Trujillo was declared inactive this game, dealing with an injury. White would throw for 258 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions for his first game starting this season.
Wide receiver Boo Smith recorded 92 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Smith also threw two receiving touchdowns during the game. Malik Wilson rushed for 38 yards and one touchdown.
Iowa had four turnovers, all stemming from interceptions thrown by quarterback Vernon Sharp. St. Joseph’s ended the night with only two, both from White’s interceptions. The Woo did score one defensive touchdown.
The Goats will play the 3-0 Nebraska Siege at home at Civic Arena on Saturday, June 20, with only one team able to leave undefeated.
