With the Pacers up 41 at halftime of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals Sunday night, and Indiana a half away from taking a 3-1 series lead, TNT's Charles Barkley is ready for a trip to Indianapolis for the Eastern Conference finals.
And ready for a table at St. Elmo Steak House.
"I'll see you all in Indy next week! St. Elmo, get the steak ready! Well done filet mignon," though Barkley pronounced mignon like minions, the little yellow guys.
After commercial break, TNT came back to Barkley after I called him out for a criminal decision on a well-done filet.
"Matt, Matt, Matt. You know I've got to have my steak," Barkley said. "I'm trying to do it medium-well, but it ain't gonna be rare. Nah, it's not gonna be rare. It's not gonna happen."
"A chef's nightmare," TNT host Ernie Johnson responded. (Side note only interesting to me: Johnson spoke at my first-grade career day at Austin Elementary in Dunwoody, Ga., 35 years ago.)
The folks at St. Elmo are ready for Barkley's visit. And please, please, please someone bring a TV camera and have Barkley try the famous shrimp cocktail.

Well done filet is criminal, FWIW.
