Victor Wembanyama represents a problem the Suns haven't seen before.

Things are heading in a positive direction for Jalen Green. He played 5 on 5 today.

I saw someone on another Suns website call Wembanyama a "unicorn." Please. That word has become an increasingly tired basketball cliche.

Also, I apparently have misunderstood what a "unicorn" means to everyone except me. Since unicorns do not exist, I mistakenly thought a "unicorn" was a player (most often a big man) with great potential that he may or may not ever realize and probably won't. The first player I ever heard called a "unicorn" was that injury-prone forward/center with a Slavic name (I swear I can't remember the name) who played for--I think--the Wizards, Knicks, Mavericks and Celtics. I'm not sure he's even in the league anymore. I think teams gave up on him. Basically, because of this player --Kristaps Porzingis, that's it!--I thought a unicorn was a player whose greatness is probably an illusion. But by this understanding, Wembanyama is obviously not a unicorn, because he's already a great player. His potential is already being realized.

As for as basketball goes, I've only heard "unicorn" used to describe a very rare, almost unknown talent. And yes, it was used routinely to describe Kristaps.
