Not only were the New York Knicks on the wrong end of a nightmarish first half Wednesday night, they were on the wrong end of history.

The San Antonio Spurs set an NBA Finals record with 14 three-pointers in the first half of Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.

The previous record for threes in an NBA Finals half was by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who had 13 in Game 4 in 2017.

At times it felt like San Antonio couldn't miss from downtown, as the Spurs answered any Knicks challenge with a barrage of threes that gave them a 27-point lead at the half.

Devin Vassell was perfect, going 4-for-4, while former Don Bosco and Rutgers star Dylan Harper and De'Aaron Fox each connected three times. Victor Wembanyama also hit a three as the Spurs went 14-for-26 in the first half.

The most made three-pointers in an NBA Finals game is that same Cavaliers team and game in 2017 where they made 24 three-pointers.
