The San Antonio Spurs simply couldn’t miss in the first half of Game 3 against the New York Knicks and they set an NBA Finals record in the process.
The Spurs knocked down a whopping 14 three-pointers over the first two quarters against New York, which is the most made three-pointers in the first half of an NBA Finals game in league history.
With the avalanche of three-pointers the Spurs drilled, they have staked themselves to a 27-point lead, 76-49, and are well on their way to evening the series at 2-2.
Meanwhile, the Knicks just look lost and a shell of the team that ripped off 13 straight playoff wins, including victories in each of the first two games of this series.
If the Knicks are going to come back and win Game 4, they will have to make NBA history to do so, as the biggest comeback in an NBA Finals game is 24 points.
We’ve seen the Knicks overcome a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter of a playoff game in these playoffs, but there has been nothing to suggest New York is capable of pulling off a miracle against San Antonio on Wednesday night.
