Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs delivered a magnificent performance in Game 6, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 139-109 win. The Spurs closed out the series 4-2 and officially punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.

The Spurs’ next challenge will be a blockbuster game against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. As it will feature the top two teams in the Western Conference, Wembanyama shared his viewpoint.

"We know it's gonna be a whole different series,” Wembanyama said following Game 6. “This is a team that knows how to play basketball. They know their stuff. Will watch all their games and do the scouting and try to execute over there in Game 1."

Wembanyama contributed across the board in Game 6, finishing with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and shooting 6-of-11 from the field. He also went 7-of-9 from the free-throw line in 27 minutes.

This playoff run also marks a major milestone for the Spurs, as the franchise had not returned to the postseason since 2019 before this year. Wembanyama reflected on reaching the Western Conference Finals so early in his career.

“Western Conference finals,” Wembanyama said. “It's crazy. It's like something I heard my whole life and now being in it is just special. It's hopefully many more conference finals to come.”

Every player contributed in a strong all-around team effort in Game 6, and they controlled the game on the road from start to finish despite concerns about youth and inexperience. The Spurs’ dominance is expected to be on the next level in the Thunder game as well.
