Athens boys and JV strong at Alba-Golden meet

Athens Varsity Boys Track Team placed second in the A.G. Farrell Wright relays at Alba-Golden.
Ten schools were involved in the competition, with Brownsboro outscoring Athens 161 to 144 to take the top spot.
Athens won first place in the 4x800 relay, where Julius Cofer, Rhys Groom, Mi'trevion Thompson and Ja'coby Wilson ran the legs in 1:31.
In individual events, Gerren Lee-Brown’s time of 51:21 was good enough to win the 400 meter dash.
McCager Smith is going for his third straight trip to the state track meet in the discus.
The junior won the Alba-Golden event with a throw of 167:5.
