Southside Christian pitcher and Wake Forest signee Carson Bolemon was selected 29th by the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the MLB Draft on July 11.

Bolemon was a two-time Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Boleman compiled a 7-0 record and a 0.17 ERA in 33 games, striking out 91 batters in 41.1 innings and pitching five shutouts, including two no-hitters.

Boleman played on the varsity at Southside Christian since eighth grade and won a state title every season, including the fifth as a senior.

He committed to Wake Forest in 2022 and maintained his promise by signing during the signing period.
