Southern Miss baseball needs a win to stay alive in the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional.
The No. 1 seed Golden Eagles (44-16) match up with No. 2 seed Virginia (36-22) in an elimination game on May 30 (1 p.m. CT, ESPN+) at Pete Taylor Park.
Both teams are coming off losses to lower-seeded teams on the first day of the regional. Southern Miss let a ninth-inning lead slip away and lost to No. 4 seed Little Rock 7-4, while the Cavaliers fell to No. 3 seed Jacksonville State 15-7.
The winner of Southern Miss vs. Virginia will play on May 31 at 3 p.m.
The Hattiesburg American will provide updates throughout the game.
