MONTGOMERY, AL − Southern Miss baseball has moved on to the third round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
The No. 1 seed Golden Eagles (41-14) play No. 4 seed Troy (30-27) at DABOS Park on May 22 (11 a.m. CT on ESPN+). The two teams played a regular season series at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg from March 20-22. Southern Miss won two games to clinch the series.
The Golden Eagles outlasted No. 9 seed Georgia State 7-6 on May 20 and the Trojans handled South Alabama 11-3 on May 21. The winner won't play again until May 23 at 12:30 p.m. against a team that advances from the losers' bracket from Game 12 on May 22 at 6:30 p.m., which could Southern Miss, Troy or South Alabama.
The Golden Eagles have won 10 in a row and hold the longest current win-streak in the country.
