Sources say star-level players at high-major schools can easily gross between $4-to-6 million per season. The result: Several players and agents have to calculate what they might be giving up and how those figures compare with projected draft slots according to the NBA's rookie scale. Players are no longer merely seeking first-round assurances. They want to know the likelihood that they'll be able to secure a maiden NBA deal that matches, if not surpasses, their would-be salaries for staying in school.
