Sophie Cunningham's vulgar trash talk sums up emphatic Fever rout of Aces originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Indiana Fever needed a win like this.
They've had a solid, but slightly bumpy, season -- and a 109-75 rout of the Las Vegas Aces had to feel about as good as it possibly could, especially on the road.
There were big games all over the floor, including four starters in double figures, led by Kelsey Mitchell's 27 points.
But it was Sophie Cunningham off the bench who really sparked things in a massive way.
Cunningham dropped 20 points, making a ridiculous 7-of-9 shots from the floor, including 6-for-7 from 3-point range.
She was definitely feeling it, and amid one hot stretch, she let unleash a pretty intense, NSFW phrase as proof what this win felt like:

In a sense, this win was catharsis for the Fever, and for Cunningham.
They've listened to the critiques of their defense. They've dealt with Caitlin Clark's back troubles. They've watched as Cunningham became a meme a few weeks ago for her pointing incident with DeWanna Bonner.
Sometimes, a basketball team simply wants to go out on the court and play good basketball. That's exactly what the Fever did on Sunday night in a game televised nationally on NBC.
Cunningham provided the proof loud and clear -- this one had a lot of emotion tied up in it, and the Fever were pumped to put on this kind of show.
