Given the uncertainty surrounding Steve Kerr's future, the Golden State Warriors could be in need of a new head coach.

With Kerr's decision expected to come soon, Golden State may already be preparing a list of potential candidates.

According to sports columnist Tim Kawakami, one of those candidates could be current NBA commentator and the son of a former Warriors Hall of Famer, Brent Barry.

Barry is the son of Rick Barry, who spent eight seasons with the Warriors, averaging 25.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.3 steals.

Although he was never a Hall of Famer, Brent had a solid career in his own right, playing 14 seasons in the NBA for six different franchises. Barry's career-high in points came during the 2001-02 season as a member of the Seattle Supersonics, averaging 14.4 per game. He was also known for his shooting prowess, owning a career 40.5% success rate from beyond the arc.

Additionally, Barry has NBA coaching experience, working as an assistant with the Phoenix Suns in 2024.

For all these reasons, the former two-time champion may be a dark horse candidate if Kerr were to depart.
