SOMERVILLE -- The 2026 Somerset County Tournament brackets were set Monday evening during a virtual meeting of coaches, and the Rutgers Prep School girls and defending champ Gill St. Bernard’s boys basketball teams were awarded the top spot in their respective brackets.
The defending champion Gill St. Bernard’s girls were named to the No. 2 seed.
The Top 4 seeds in each bracket will have a double-bye into the quarterfinals and the No. 5 through No. 9 seeds have byes into the second round of the 15-team brackets.
Play begins with first-round games Thursday, following by Saturday’s second round. The quarterfinals are Feb. 7, the semis Feb. 14 at Franklin and the finals Saturday, Feb. 21 at Montgomery High School.
