that would be me:wave:

I was kind of right....I said martay would not be a cardinal and we would pick up poole 1st and soliday 2nd if we lost a receiver due to injury....

I was wrong in that we did try to bring on martay - he just flunked his physical - I did not think we would get that far!

If the 3 receivers (foster, kasper and gilmore) are inactive sunday due to injury - poole will probably play a few plays - hard to learn a new system in a day or two and there is not much out there as far as receivers go..

Poole's been signed to a one-year deal, and LB Michael Young has been released. Funny, with all the speculation about who was gonna go if Jenkins signed, I don't think I saw Young mentioned as a candidate. Did anyone predict this cut?

Pinnacle:

What "new system"? Nate Poole was around for all of training camp, and played some in preseason, right? Shouldn't he be pretty much up-to-speed?

Yup he should! Although not a deal breaker it is a good signing! Poole is a good player!

actually..we are saying the same thing - I did not go into enough detail...my point was that with the emergency at wide receiver - which I hope is temporary - we really had no choice but to go after a guy who we had in training camp..someone brand new to the organization would take awhile to learn the plays, etc..and by that time he would probably be cut because some of the injured guys would be back..I guess I was justifying bringing in nate poole as opposed to a receiver cut by another team ..

You should say this...

#1 - He's healthy
#2 - He fits into our plans - He is economically feasible
