Another week brought another round of standout performances on softball fields across Central Jersey.

Here are the nominations for the Central Jersey Softball Player of the Week award. All stats through Sunday, May 17.

Voting ends Friday at noon.

Nominees selected by Simeon Pincus and Josh Rosenfeld. Voting winner will be featured as the Player of the Week.

TAYLOR AYCOCK

Delaware Valley

Senior

The Terriers have enjoyed another stellar season, claiming the Skyland Conference Valley Division title, and Aycock has been one of the keys, both in the circle and at the plate. Both skills came into play during Del Val’s 4-0 week. Aycock, who splits time in the circle with Grace Slack, went 3-0 last week, tossing three shutouts, including a five-inning no-hitter at Somerville. She allowed just three hits and five walks in 17 innings, striking out 22, including the 300th of her career. The senior also went 7-for-11 at the plate last week, with a double, two runs and five RBIs, walking twice. She’s hitting .348 for the season with eight doubles, 10 runs and 17 RBIs, and is 9-2 in the circle with a 1.56 ERA, allowing just 21 walks and fanning 84 in 70 2/3 innings.

Softball Player of the Week is Linden freshman Leah Vera for Week 6

RILEY BOBROWSKI

Watchung Hills

Senior

The two-time All-State pitcher and 2024 Softball Player of the Year has shared the circle with Olivia Videla this season, allowing the veteran righty to stay fresh for when the games get bigger -- like in the Somerset County Tournament last week, which saw two of her most dominant performances. Bobrowski began her week in the circle by tossing a four-hit, one-walk shutout with 11 strikeouts at Immaculata in Wednesday’s semifinals, before coming within two outs of a perfect game in Saturday’s final, settling for a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts. She also hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first, finishing with two hits and a walk for the day. She is 14-1 for the season with a 0.88 ERA, allowing 32 hits, 34 walks and striking out 193 in 96 innings. She’s also hitting .415 with eight doubles, a triple, four homers and 19 RBIs, walking 13 times.

ANNA DECOLA

Somerville

Senior

The Pioneers have proven they belong since moving up from the Mountain Division to the Skyland-Valley this year, and DeCola’s presence behind the plate working with batterymate Sarah Gerber and her big bat in the lineup have had a lot to so with the Ville’s success. The catcher had another big week as Somerville went 3-1, with the loss coming to powerhouse Delaware Valley. DeCola went 8-for-14 for the week, with two doubles and a triple, scoring three times and driving in five. She’s batting .542 for the year with five doubles, three triples and three homers, scoring 18 runs and driving in 24.

MIA DELORENZO

Highland Park

Sophomore

The Owls advanced to the GMC Invitational semifinals by eliminating Woodbridge Academy and Wardlaw-Hartridge as DeLorenzo went 6-of-9, with five RBIs and two stolen bases in the quarterfinal win. She’s batting .486 and slugging .708 for the season, with 35 hits and 43 RBIs. The catcher has a career .435 batting average with an even 50 hits and 56 RBIs.

VICTORIA GABRYSZEWSKI

Franklin

Senior

The Warriors center field has had an outstanding four-year career and she’s saved her best for last, as she’s on pace for career-highs across the stat sheet. Gabryszewski had another big Week 7, starring in three Franklin wins, although she missed the one loss, to Phillipsburg. She went 8-for-11 in wins over South Hunterdon, Bernards and Lenape, with three doubles, a triple, six runs and an RBI. She also stole two bases. She’s batting .468 for the season with four doubles, two triples, 19 runs and three RBIs out of the leadoff spot, with 14 stolen bases.

LEANNE HIGGINS

St. Thomas Aquinas

Junior

The Trojans’ ace made her first two postseason starts in GMCT triumphs over Piscataway and Edison, respectively, last week, yielded a total of seven hits with 17 strikeouts and six walks to propel STA back into the semifinals. Higgins also got it done at the dish in those games going 5-for-5 and scoring three runs. She’s 9-4 this spring with a 3.40 ERA, 104 strikeouts and 42 walks in 90 innings while batting .339.

GABRIELLE HILL

Spotswood

Junior

The shortstop went 6-for-8 with 10 RBIs in two games last week, homering in a one-run loss to Edison in the GMCT, then homering again and going 5-for-5 with nine RBIs as she hit for the cycle and collected her 100th hit in a win over J.F. Kennedy. Hill has five home runs this spring with 28 hits and 22 RBI while batting .424 and slugging .848. She begins the week with 100 hits, 72 RBIs and 16 career home runs with a .472 batting average and .906 slugging percentage.

SOFIA PHILLIPOU

Pingry

Sophomore

The Big Blue’s jack-of-all-trades plays catcher, third base and the outfield, not only holding down multiple positions on the field, but contributing a key bat to the attack. That was certainly true last week as Pingry swept three games, including a five-inning mercy-rule win over Kent Place in the Prep A state final, the Big Blue’s third straight crown. Phillipou went 8-for-11 with two doubles and a triple, for the week, scoring six runs and picking up five RBIs.

ISABELLA SARRO

Wardlaw-Hartridge

Sophomore

Sarro went 10-for-14 last week with a home run and 10 RBIs as the Rams extended their winning streak to six games before suffering a one-run loss to Highland Park in the quarterfinals of the GMC Invitational. No sophomore jinx here for a player batting .673 and slugging 1.018 in her second campaign with 37 hits and 23 RBIs. She’s already amassed 69 hits and 46 RBIs in her career with a .611 batting average.
