USA Football announced it hired former All-Pro NFL fullback Marcel Reece as the organization’s new Senior Vice President of Football Strategy & Operations on Thursday.
Reece spent the majority of his NFL career with the Raiders from 2009-15 then played the last season of his career with the Seattle Seahawks. Reece is a Southern California native from Hesperia and Inglewood.
“USA Football is doing extraordinary work to grow the game I’ve dedicated my life to, on and off the field,” Reece said, per USA Football’s press release. “Flag football’s Olympic debut in Los Angeles in 2028 is a defining moment for this sport, and I’m honored to assist USA Football’s High Performance and National Teams and further the organization’s mission of leading, strengthening and growing football for athletes everywhere. I can’t wait to get to work.”
Before taking on the new role with USA Football, Reece served three years in the Raiders’ front office. Most recently, Reece was the Raiders’ Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Reece was in charge of all operations at Allegiant Stadium and helped generate a record $182 million in revenue.

Reece will oversee USA Football’s operation and will play a key role in deciding the roster for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
“In a short time with USA Football, Marcel has already made meaningful contributions to our organization,” USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck said. “With the Olympics on the horizon and the game growing at every level, this is exactly the right time to bring him on board full-time. His background as both a player and an executive brings a perspective that is truly unique and will strengthen everything our team has built, positioning us well for 2028 and beyond.”
