Elias Pettersson, for one night anyway, showed what the buzz is about. He didn’t even score but through the first two periods of his (pre-season) NHL career, Elias Pettersson has already won over the Vancouver crowd. And all it took was him making a great cross-crease pass to Nikolay Goldobin… …dekeing Edmonton Oiler Ryan Strome out of his shorts… …and nearly doing the same to Oilers goalie Cam Talbot. And of course, there were a whole bunch of shots and passes and even at least one nice back check. For one night, anyway, the new kid looks pretty fantastic. Next we’ll see how he deals with teams that have a full squad of NHLers, who have watched video of his tricks and tendencies.
