Sky's DiJonai Carrington ejected for flagrant 2 foul on Fever's Sophie Cunningham, who's held back after whistle

Chicago Sky wing DiJonai Carrington was hot out of the Wintrust Arena gates Saturday against the Indiana Fever. She began 3 of 3, converting an and-1 and a 3-pointer in the process.

But her sizzling start boiled over when she fouled Fever guard Sophie Cunningham on the break late in the first quarter. Carrington whacked Cunningham in the face as she went up for a layup.

The bucket counted, and Cunningham added a free throw after the foul was upgraded to a flagrant 2 upon review.

Just like that, Carrington’s promising outing was over.

Cunningham was irate following the foul and had to be held back.
