SIOUX RAPIDS, Iowa (KCAU) — An old bank building in Sioux Rapids, IA, is getting new life thanks to a youth wrestling club.
The Community State Bank building in downtown Sioux Rapids was damaged by flood waters from the 2024 flood.
The bank decided to construct a new building and donated its old location to the Sioux Central Youth Wrestling Club.

Work to convert the over 100-year-old building from a bank to a wrestling facility started in January.
The cost of the conversion is between $180,000 and $220,000
Right now, they need about $60,000 to finish the project.
“The big chunk of it is mats. We’re putting in a spring floor just because it’s a safety thing. That’s going to run us about $10,000. Mats we’re looking at about $50,000, roughly. And that includes wall mats, floor mats, and all the bumpers for edges and everything like that. That’s the high cost of it,” said Mike Morrow, President of the Sioux Central Wrestling Club Board.
Morrow hopes to have the building done and filled with wrestlers by the holiday break this year.
