Seems to be the popular choices on this board as regarding to our #8 pick.

If you had to make a case for Simmons over Wirfs or Willis....or.....Wirfs or Wills over Simmons, what would it be?

Interested to see your opinions.

My thoughts are that Simmons can't be counted on initially to be a traditional ILB.

I look at him to be used more as a big nickel safety. That's not necessarily a negative.

I also think a good starting tackle is way more valuable and harder to find than a good starting ILB or safety. Fill the hard to fill positions.

Is there a reason everyone is just talking about Wirfs/Wills and not Thomas?

Thomas will go in the teens that’s why. Wirfs and Wills are pretty much 1/1A in this draft. I love Thomas he’s a stud but he’s not the athletic marvel the other two are. Thomas is just plain good you don’t dominate the SEC that long by sucking

I dont know, MLB is pretty damn important, and covering tight ends.

We haven’t had an elite MLB since DWash, when he was here our defense just operated differently.

The thing I like about Simmons is that he is your QB spy, TE coverer and also great against the run and good at rushing the QB. He’s everything.

imagine when the RB motions out from the backfield into the slot, it’s no problem he can cover anyone

Simmons, not only do I think he is going to be an elite talent but he also is built to cover what has been our biggest weakness for years: tight ends.

Also, with several similarly grades offensive tackles on the board... I don't really trust Kiem to get the right one.

Thomas is a more natural LT in a power scheme IMO. Love his talent and think he is actually the 2nd best Tackle prospect in the draft. Just not our cup of tea.

A lot of these folks like Becton but I think he's the biggest unknown in the draft. Would never take a risk that big in the top 10.

RT:
Wills
Wirfs

LT
Thomas
Jones
Becton

That's my take
