Simeone praises ‘incredible’ Arteta after Arsenal knock Atletico Madrid out of Champions League
Diego Simeone praised the job Mikel Arteta has done at Arsenal after his Atletico Madrid side were knocked out by the Gunners in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game in the second leg to hand Arsenal a 2-1 aggregate victory following the draw in Madrid in the first leg.
And Simeone says Arteta deserves credit for how he has progressed Arsenal over recent years.

“I think Mikel Arteta has done an incredible job at Arsenal,” he said.
“He’s been trying to get to this point for a long time, to reach the Champions League and to win the league.
“They have incredible financial power, and that’s linked to what they’re doing, I’m really pleased for them. They deserve it. They’ve been working very hard for many years.”
