The Green Bay Packers drafted two players who competed at the East-West Shrine Bowl last year. Brian Gutekunst took Georgia defensive lineman Warren Brinson with the 198th overall pick and Cincinnati offensive lineman John Williams with the 250th overall pick.

The practices for the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl started on Friday morning in Frisco, Texas. Let's take a look at some of the defensive prospects on the East roster who could be on Green Bay's radar for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Darrell Jackson Jr, DT, FSU

Everybody knew that Jackson would have "whoa" measurables when he checked in down in Frisco this week. The Florid State defensive tackle checked in at 6-5, 328 pounds with 35-inch arms. Jackson is a boulder against the run and is strong at the point of attack. He roots in against double teams and is going to keep linebackers clean. Over the past two seasons, Jackson has recorded seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 44 pressures and 47 run stops.

Brandon Cleveland, DT, NC State

At 6-2, 322 pounds, Cleveland is a stout defensive tackle who can control his gap. He's powerful and has a quick first step to fire off the ball. He recorded career-highs in tackles for loss (seven) and run stops (21). The NC State defensive tackle is more than just a roadblock; he has active traits to make splash plays behind the line of scrimmage.

DeMonte Capehart, DT, Clemson

At 6-4, 314 pounds, Capehart is a big human who can shut down interior running lanes. With his size and strength, Capehart roots in and eats up space. The Clemson defensive tackle has the power to forklift offensive linemen out of his way to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. During his sixth and final season with the Tigers, Capehart recorded three tackles for loss and a career-high 14 run stops.

Lander Barton, LB, Utah

Taysom Hill 2.0 anybody? Okay, that's a terrible dad joke. However, Barton showcased his versatility this past season by playing both ways, logging snaps on the offensive side of the ball and catching six passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. The Utah linebacker does a good job of navigating traffic against the run. He's an assignment sound linebacker who could provide instant pop on special teams while pushing for playing time when the defense is on the field.

Marvin Jones Jr, Edge, Oklahoma

At 6-4, 257 pounds, Jones possesses an ideal frame. He's just never been able to put it all together, but there are occasional flashes that could make him a potential lottery ticket on Day 3. The Georgia transfer has above-average first-step quickness and can convert speed to power to jar blockers. The tools are there to bet on, and with the Packers possibly in the market for defensive end depth, he could be an ideal target.

Red Murdock, LB, Buffalo

Murdock is a smash-mouth run defender. He is fearless working downhill and isn't afraid of throwing his body around. The Buffalo linebacker has recorded 30 tackles for loss and 119 run stops over the past two seasons. Murdock doesn't sit back on his heels, he takes the fight to the offense and that playstyle would be a welcome addition to Green Bay's defense.
