Editor's note: Keep up with the England-Norway game with our live blog, here.

England scored an equalizer in the first half of its World Cup quarterfinal match, but should it have counted?

The Three Lions leveled the game against Norway on Saturday, July 11 with Jude Bellingham coming up big in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half to get the score to 1-1. However, plenty of Norway players seemed frustrated with French referee Clément Turpin afterward, but nothing seemed off until the Fox broadcast showed a replay during halftime.

Upon close review, Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland's goal kick appeared to hit a cable for a camera above the field, which could have given just enough of a deflection to get the ball in England's possession, leading to Bellingham's goal.

Once it was discovered, it made more sense why Norway players and coaches were upset, with Nyland pointing up in the sky.

The play was not reviewed, but Fox rules analyst Mark Clattenburg said it should have been reviewed, and if the ball touches an outside object, the referee should have blown the whistle and it should be ruled a dead ball.

While it was a difficult thing to see in real-time, there were plenty of people on social media that believed the goal should not have been allowed.

The England equalizer probably should’ve been disallowed. On Norway’s goal kick, the ball clipped the camera wire hanging over the pitch mid-flight, which is what let England regain possession. Rules state play should be suspended when the ball in play is interfered with by a…

I was told the soccer ball in the world cup could detect touching a hair...but it can't detect hitting a wire in the England/Norway game that leads to a goal? Huh? FIFA?

Not at England getting help from higher powers...literally. The ball hit the camera wire and fell right in front of them should've blowed the whistle when that happened.
