The Cincinnati Bengals have a few key defenders working their way back from injuries as training camp continues.
One is interior defensive lineman BJ Hill, who went to the PUP list at the start of training camp due to an injury.
According to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Hill seemed to take a step forward in his comeback on Sunday by working in pads and a helmet with a sled off to the side during practice.
Then there’s former first-round pick Shemar Stewart after his serious injury scare. As Conway captured, he’s seemingly already out of the brace he had on his knee earlier and merely wearing a sleeve:
It goes without saying, but the Bengals will rely on both guys often during the regular season. They need Stewart to take a strong step in his development, just like other wedge defenders like Myles Murphy and Cashius Howell.
On the interior, Hill is an important part of a rotational plan aimed at keeping guys fresh alongside the likes of Dexter Lawrence and Jonathan Allen.
