Shane Lowry sits tied for the lead heading into Sunday’s final round of the Truist Championship, blending his love for golf with newfound ‘Swiftie’ enthusiasm, thanks to his wife Wendy.
She has been busy recruiting him into Taylor Swift’s fervent fandom after the couple and their daughters snagged VIP tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour show at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium last June.
In an Instagram recap of the night, Wendy playfully dubbed Lowry “Taylor Swift’s latest recruit
,” a quip that drew laughs from rugby legend Johnny Sexton, who wrote, "It happens to the best of us ".

Wendy, a former nurse at Dublin’s Temple Street Children’s Hospital, has long been Lowry’s unwavering support, cheering him on at venues from Augusta National to the Open Championship.
His recent stretch reflects the calming effect Wendy attributes to family balance. At the 2025 Masters Par-3 Contest, Lowry shared a heart-warming moment alongside his wife and their daughters, Iris and Ivy, as they strolled Augusta greens, dubbing the experience their "Best day ” before the tournament’s competitive intensity set in.
"I think since he's had children it has changed a lot to how he responds to say a bad day on the golf course," Wendy said, reflecting on Lowry as a father in the 2022 documentary series Roots. "The girls don't care what he shoots, so when he comes home, no one's asking him any questions; they just want Dad home."
Lowry and Straka will tee off in the final pairing, both eyeing their first signature-event victory of the season. Lowry is tied with Sepp Straka at 14-under after carding a three-under-par 67 in the third round at the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course.
