Great post-game interview with Ketel. He was actually emotional…
This game is so taxing and grueling. Marte has been stinging the ball virtually all season, and not getting any payoff… and then tonight - BOOM! His first career walk-off HR. Amazing…

Yeah his expected batting average is MUCH higher.

He is a guy who can get hot off of something like this. I hope it happens.

Honestly though they should have won it 2 innings ago
crap happens man… The Suns should’ve have a championship if not for the Horry hip-check on Nash.
The Cards should’ve had a SB Championship if not for the toes of Santonio Holmes…

This team continues to fight and battle. Games… Innings… At-bats don’t always go the way they and we want. It’s baseball man…

Sure but Torey has been harping on pitch selection and rightfully so. Those two gidps were slapping out of the zone instead of waiting for your spot.

Dude, MLB hitters who hit .280 are considered good. Which means 72% of the time they fail. It happens. Arrenado has been FAR better than anyone expected, and Del Castillo, that not my favorite any a long shot, has also been pretty solid thus far.
We won the game, which is all that matters.

okay I understand hitting is difficult but the odds of scoring a single run with bases loaded with 1 out is about 75% despite how hard it is. In fact, the average runs scored in that position is 1.55 runs across the majors. To score zero in back to back innings in that situation is historically less than a 2% chance of that occurring.

So when I say they should have won it 2 innings ago...they should have.

Now, consider that being down 2 runs with 2 outs, your odds of winning are about 2%. So what happened tonight is about a 1 in 2500 games.

The Holmes TD was painful enough, but in retrospect the interception return before halftime was truly gut wrenching

Torey Lovullo says Corbin Carroll could play today after getting bonked on the head by a throw but wanted to give him a day off anyway and today made the most sense to him. No symptoms, feels good.

Torey Lovullo said Corbin Carroll "feels great," but that today's game just made sense to get him a rest day after being hit in the head by a throw.

Also said Carroll may come off the bench.

I know you're a numbers guy... What did the numbers say about the Dbacks chances for winning, when in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs and 2 strikes, Del Castillo gets a bloop hit to score Vargas, making the score 3-2. Waldy grabs a catcher's interference which allows Ketel to bat, who then hits his first career walk-off dinger?
Crap happens man...

I can’t express how much I love that a dude hitting the ball as hard as Marte has been over the last 24 hours lays a bunt down to load the bases with no outs. I really wish guys like Corbin and Barrosa would do this once in a while.

Absolutely! It just puts stress on defenses and keeps them guessing.
