Serena Williams’ return to tennis won’t just be limited to the HSBC Championships. Williams has also committed to playing in the 2026 Berlin Open, which will take place shortly after the HSBC Championships end.

It’s unclear whether Williams will participate in singles or doubles matches at the Berlin Open.


Williams made waves Monday, when she announced she would return to tennis after years away from the sport. Williams, now 44, only confirmed she was taking part in the HBSC Championships in her announcement, leaving some uncertainty about the nature of her comeback.

With Williams committing to the 2026 Berlin Open, it appears she intends to play in multiple events ahead of Wimbledon … where it’s possible she’ll make her Grand Slam return.
