Senegal will face off against Egypt on Wednesday, January 14, in a clash for a spot in the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).

The Lions secured their place in this round thanks to a narrow victory over Mali (1-0). On the other side, the Pharaohs took down the reigning champions, Ivory Coast, with a 3-1 triumph.

Senegal is chasing a second AFCON title, hoping to add to their historic 2021 triumph.

Historically, the Senegalese national team has reached the semi-finals five times, boasting a record of three wins and two draws.
