RIP. Sounds like, from other social media posts by players, it was known that he was struggling. Too bad he didn't reach out to others who were worried about him.

I wonder if he reached out to professionals for help or was he trying to navigate this on his own? Either way gone way too young. RIP.

Ironically, I was wearing a Purdue t-shirt when I heard the news.

I've mentioned this before, but I was a big fan of his at Purdue - my late father was a huge fan of his. I think Dad also like him because we all share the same last name...!

A lot of men who struggle with mental health don't want to be a burden on others. One of the reasons they end things is because they don't want to continue to drag others down with them. That isolationist thinking and justification keeps them from getting real help.

From an athlete's perspective, to have invested so much time and effort to getting where you are and then recognizing your career might be over at such a young age, can leave you without a sense of purpose, direction, or even identity. Even moreseo if you feel like you failed at some level.
