Hitters seem to be ahead of pitchers in Livingston County as we head into May softball.
There are 16 county players with at least 25 at-bats hitting .400 or higher through April’s game, an extraordinarily high total considering the area has only five teams. Only four pitchers have earned run averages under .400.
Howell, which is hitting .432 as a team, has the top four batters in the county, all of whom are hitting well north of .500. Howell sophomore Zoey Overton is leading the county in the three triple crown categories of average, home runs and RBIs.
