Texas A&M baseball picked up its first SEC series win of the season over the weekend, sweeping Missouri on the road and taking another step toward its goal of returning to the postseason. After entering last year ranked No. 1 only to miss the tournament entirely, this group has embraced the benefit of lowered expectations. The pressure is gone, the growth is real, and the veterans are setting the tone.
No one embodied that more than junior infielder and future MLB Draft pick Gavin Grahovac, who delivered his best weekend of the year. After missing most of the 2025 season, Grahovac looked every bit like the star the Aggies expected him to be. The irony, of course, is that he exited Game 1 after having his hand stepped on… only to return and launch home run after home run.
He’s not the prototypical leadoff hitter, but when he’s producing at this clip, it gives head coach Michael Earley far more flexibility with how he structures the lineup.
On Monday, the conference named Grahovac the SEC Co‑Player of the Week after a dominant series in which he recorded four hits, four home runs, and 12 RBI, all on the road during A&M’s first SEC sweep of the season.
Below is the excerpt from the league’s official release:
Texas A&M will host Sam Houston in a midweek game on Tuesday, March 31 at Blue Bell Park in Bryan–College Station.
