Sean Strickland has always identified as a conservative, but his view of Donald Trump’s politics has become more complicated, as disagreements over America First priorities have pushed him into open criticism.
The UFC middleweight champion recently questioned Trump-aligned politics after an AIPAC-backed Republican primary result, arguing foreign interests were being put ahead of American ones.
That criticism has now reached one of Trump’s most prominent allies. Before UFC Freedom 250, Strickland took aim at Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Strickland posted on X last Sunday: “I hope Benjamin Netanyahu goes to UFC 250… It will set the record for the loudest public shaming.”
The comment followed his broader criticism of US support for Israel in Middle East conflicts. Strickland has framed the issue as an America First concern rather than a purely partisan one.
UFC Freedom 250 is set for June 14 on the White House South Lawn, and the crowd will not be a typical UFC audience. Reports suggest the main South Lawn seating will be invitation-only, with military members, officials and VIP guests filling limited seats.
That could affect the atmosphere. A regular UFC crowd might react strongly to Netanyahu, but a guest-heavy White House audience may be more reserved.
Even so, Strickland’s comments show how much his political tone has shifted. He has not abandoned conservatism, but he is now willing to challenge Trump’s circle on foreign policy.
