After firing Joe Lombardi on Tuesday, the Denver Broncos kicked off their search for a new offensive coordinator by interviewing Ronald Curry, according to a report from the Denver Post's Parker Garbriel.

Curry, 46, is a familiar name for Broncos fans after he spent the first seven years of his playing career in the AFC West with the Oakland Raiders. After hanging up his cleats, Curry got his first coaching opportunity with the San Francisco 49ers as an offensive assistant in 2014.

While coaching the New Orleans Saints, current Denver head coach Sean Payton hired Curry as an offensive assistant in 2016. Curry worked his way up Payton's staff, first coaching wide receivers (2018-2020) before moving to quarterbacks (2021-2023).

Payton stepped down in New Orleans following the 2021 season. Three years later, Curry became the Buffalo Bills' QBs coach. He now has an opportunity to reunite with Payton in Denver. Curry is the team's first known interview for the open OC position. He previously interviewed for the same position in 2023, but Payton ended up hiring Lombardi.

Davis Webb could be a strong in-house candidate for the OC job, but he remains a candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders' head coach opening.
