Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay made some headlines on Monday by stating a few things.
McVay said the Rams may be interested in signing free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Cousins was the backup in Atlanta for Michael Penix Jr. The Rams seem to indicate that current Rams backup Jimmy Garoppolo might be gone, which is why they are open to signing Cousins.
"Hey, I'd love to have Jimmy Garoppolo back with us," McVay said, per the team's website. "That's a big deal for us. He's earned the right to be able to take his time and do whatever he wants. Is there an opportunity to explore, if it's not Jimmy, (like) Kirk Cousins? Of course. I'd love to be able to be able to see what that looks like. So those are two guys we've talked about."
Of course, there are also rumors that the Rams may draft Ty Simpson out of Alabama.
McVay and Cousins have a relationship going back to their days with the Washington Commanders, when McVay was the Commanders' offensive coordinator for two years.
A reunion with Cousins is not out of the question and is very much a serious option for the Rams.
