Rashid Shaheed’s role with the Seattle Seahawks for next season has become more clearly defined this summer.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Shaheed is in line to see an increased workload in 2026 following his standout performance this spring.
“More motions and shifts in the offense.” Fowler said. “They will have that with Brian Fleury. I’m told that Sam Darnold’s really comfortable with that. Rashid Shaheed. We know he’s fast. He had a major spring, I was told. He and Sam Sam Darnold hitting it off. They’re going to give him more. … They’re going to give more short to intermediate stuff too, to Rashid Shaheed. He’s gonna be a big time player for them.”
Shaheed has been forecasted to have a breakout season in 2026 throughout the offseason. He will vie for the second-most targets in the Seahawks’ passing attack next season along with AJ Barner and Cooper Kupp, and is in line to assume such responsibilities behind AP Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The 27-year-old Shaheed went for 687 receiving yards last season and will have the chance to exceed that total in 2026. The Seahawks will look to him to produce significantly in the offense as they seek a second consecutive Super Bowl victory in 2026.
