Seahawks Only Have 3 Players Ranked in PFN's NFL Top 100 for 2026 Season After Winning Super Bowl

The results are in: The Seattle Seahawks were the best team in the NFL last season. After all, they did win the Super Bowl. That’s all it takes.

While one member of the team did win Offensive Player of the Year, the Seahawks didn’t have the best overall player, the best defensive player, or the best special teamer. Yet, when you add up the effort from the coaching staff, Seattle’s offense, head coach Mike Macdonald’s defense, and special teams play, the Seahawks were simply the best.

So how the heck did they only get three athletes on Pro Football Network’s Top 100 player rankings?

Which Seahawks Made PFN’s Top 100 Rankings?

PFN recently revealed its full list of top 100 player rankings. While some Seahawks drew high marks, others missed the list altogether.

First things first, which Seahawks made the list?

Coming in at No. 13 was All-Pro wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Some might argue he should have ranked higher after leading the NFL with a career-high 1,793 receiving yards last season. He undoubtedly established himself as one of the best five receivers in football. In fact, PFN ranked him third among receivers, behind Puka Nacua and Ja’Marr Chase, yet ahead of Justin Jefferson.

“After a 119-1793-10 season, he is now viewed as a Tier 1 WR, a label he figures to hold for years to come with him not turning 25 years of age until Super Sunday (or Valentine’s Day, however you mark your calendar),” Kyle Soppe wrote.

“True greatness extends beyond counting numbers and to gravity. Sam Darnold was QB5 in our impact grading last season thanks to the JSN production (his first top-10 of his career) and Kenneth Walker had the needed lanes to run through during the Super Bowl because the Patriots refused to take their eyes off of Seattle’s WR1.”

Smith-Njigba was no doubt a game-changer last season. The Seahawks wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl without him. But their success was fueled by far more than just one player.

The Seahawks also had defensive tackle Leonard Williams rank 25th, coming in as the second-best player at his position.

“He’s always been a venerable power producer and two-phase disruptor, but he’s reached his fully evolved form in Seattle, and it’s a scary proposition for the league,” Ian Cummings wrote.

Williams is coming off his second consecutive Pro Bowl season and first All-Pro selection (second-team). He was a key cog in helping coach Macdonald’s defense allow the fewest points in the NFL.

Next, the Seahawks had quarterback Sam Darnold, who ranked 71st out of 100 players. Darnold was the 12th-ranked QB on PFN’s list.

“It’s been a remarkable turnaround for Sam Darnold, who just three years ago was a backup quarterback in San Francisco,” read PFN’s Analysis on Darnold.

“He made the Pro Bowl with Minnesota in 2024, and he did so again with the Seattle Seahawks in 2025, leading his team all the way to a Super Bowl victory. In both of his last two seasons, he’s led his team to 14-3 regular season records, too.”

As great as his season was, Darnold wasn’t flawless. He still had a high propensity to turn the ball over, but when he’s in the zone, Darnold can win big games, as we saw throughout the postseason leading up to Super Bowl LX.

“Darnold’s 82.5 PFN QB Impact Score marked a career high and ranked fifth in the NFL last season. He’s more prone to turnovers than you’d like, having thrown 26 interceptions over the last two years. However, he has a strong arm and the right level of confidence you want in your franchise quarterback. He’s a gunslinger who’s proven he can keep his team afloat against top competition.”

Thus, players like Charles Cross, DeMarcus Lawrence, Byron Murphy II, Nick Emmanwori, and Devon Witherspoon all missed the list. While they’re all great players, if nothing else, missing the cut should serve as further motivation to come back even better for the 2026 season.
