‘Alien Runner With a Rocket Arm’ -- NFL Analyst Claims Josh Allen Is ‘A Kind of QB We May Never See Again’ As Bills Star Ranks No. 1 on PFN’s Top-100

Despite finishing short of the ultimate prize yet again, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen remains among the top athletes in the world. The dual-threat quarterback put together yet another impressive season in 2025, proving his supremacy in terms of top-level NFL talent.

Josh Allen Receives Flowers Ahead of Next Super Bowl Quest

Now an eight-year NFL veteran, Allen has made his mark on the league in more ways than one. Saying the 30-year-old has changed the meaning of a modern NFL quarterback would be doing him an injustice. The versatility to be elite on both the ground and through the air has made Allen a nightmare for opposing defenses.

In his seven seasons under sole control as the Bills’ man at the helm, Allen has surpassed 3,000 passing yards and 420 rushing yards in each campaign. In 2024, the Wyoming product brought it all together and earned the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award.

During that season, Allen led the Bills to the AFC Championship Game, where they fell to their inevitable kryptonite, the Kansas City Chiefs. That season, the former top-ten draft choice registered 3,731 yards through the air, 531 yards on the ground, and added 41 total touchdowns.

After another strong performance in 2025, Allen lands first overall on PFN’s NFL Top 100 Players Entering 2026. The list uses three key factors in determining its metrics: player performance, team role, and overall roster influence.

“He’s a kind of QB we may never see again: An alien runner with a rocket arm, and the operational intelligence to match,” said PFN analyst Ian Cummings about Allen.

The four-time Pro Bowler registered an 80.3 QB impact score in 2025, which didn’t rank highest, but, once again, there is more to be said about player evaluations.

Receiving high praise from PFN analysts, it will be interesting to see where Allen lands on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list.

A look at Other QBs’ Ranks in Comparison to Allen

Just three other quarterbacks rank in the top ten of PFN’s top 100 players list entering 2026. At No. 2 overall, we see Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, while New England’s Drake Maye lands eighth and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow finds himself tenth.

While not yet fully released, there is already plenty of controversy surrounding the NFL’s judgment. PFN’s second overall player, Jackson, was announced at No. 69 on the NFL top 100. This plummets the equally dangerous dual-threat quarterback 67 spots from his previous ranking of second overall in 2025.

A large part of the massive drop in rank may be due to Jackson’s injury troubles throughout the 2025 season. A revolving door of injuries on the Ravens’ overall roster certainly did not help the two-time MVP’s case either. However, PFN’s Jason Katz urges NFL fans to look beyond the unwavering 2025 season.

“Don’t let last year’s injury-plagued season fool you,” said Katz. “Lamar Jackson remains the league’s premier dual-threat QB.”

This offseason, the Bills have made moves to bolster their offensive weapons, including the addition of former Chicago Bears wideout D.J. Moore. With several other new pieces, will 2026 be the year Allen and the Bills break through and hoist the Lombardi Trophy?
