Seattle Seahawksoff-ball linebacker Tyrice Knight has been sidelined for approximately two weeks. Head coach Mike Macdonald had previously said Knight was dealing with both a knee injury and a private medical issue. At Thursday's training camp practice, Macdonald provided the media and fans with a positive update regarding his status.

The Seahawks got "great news" on Knight, per various local beat reporters in attendance at Thursday's practice. Macdonald refused to provide more insightful details, but did say Knight received the green light to begin participating again. That's crucial heading into next week's preparation period for the Week 1 contest with the San Francisco 49ers.

They got some “great news” on Tyrice Knight today, Mike Macdonald says. Won’t specify but says Tyrice has the green light to start working out again (that’s as far as Mike was willing to go on that).

Reserve linebackers Drake Thomas, D'Eryk Jackson, and Patrick O'Connell had seen an increase in reps during practice and the preseason with Knight sidelined. Neither defender is a starting-caliber linebacker. The Seahawks don't have great depth at the position behind Knight and Ernest Jones IV.

Knight was a revelation for the Seahawks' defense down the stretch of the 2024 campaign. The second-year linebacker is now expected to take another sizable step forward in his development this season. Knight's brief stint on the sideline was concerning given its somewhat mysterious nature, but the latest update indicates he's healthy again.
