NFL fans have been running wild with speculation after Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald claimed a person with a "conflict of interest" helped him prepare for the New England Patriots at Super Bowl LX.
Some assumed the culprit was former Patriots quarterback and current Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady.
Macdonald eliminated Bill Belichick as the culprit when appearing on The Dan Patrick Show. However, there were parallels drawn between Brady and former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who had a direct line to the Raiders' minority owner as the team's next head coach.
Some Patriots fans even started to turn on Brady on social media.
However, the latest update might put out the billowing flames that sparked from Macdonald's comments. According to Macdonald, via WEEI's Zach Gelb, Brady was not the person he was referring to in the interview.
"I reached out to Mike Macdonald to get clarification on his comments on the @dpshow. I asked if @TomBrady was the person with the “conflict of interest” that gave input to the Seahawks before the Super Bowl. Mike told me it wasn’t Brady that he was talking about in the interview," Gelb posted on X.
If not Brady or Belichick, then who is Macdonald talking about?
The comments will remain an even bigger mystery, and given the lack of context surrounding them, people might be forced to formulate their own opinions.
