The tinfoil hats are coming out following Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald's recent comments during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show.
According to Macdonald, the Seahawks were "really helped" by a person with a "conflict of interest" for their Super Bowl LX matchup against the New England Patriots. It's important to note that Macdonald never said that individual was from the Patriots' organization, but it also makes sense why people would jump to that conclusion with a conflict of interest being mentioned.
Dan Patrick pitched former Patriots coach Bill Belichick as the potential culprit, but Macdonald quickly shut down that guess. He admitted to speaking with New York Giants coach John Harbaugh, but he kept the other name a mystery.
"John Harbaugh and I talked. He was great. Probably can't mention one guy that really helped us out that had some conflict of interest," Macdonald said.
Some NFL fans have started to jump to the conclusion that legendary quarterback Tom Brady is the guilty party.
Brady has a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, who just hired former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as their new head coach. No other quarterback in NFL history has spent more time in Josh McDaniels' offense than Brady.
Granted, that doesn't mean he shared tips with the opponent of the team he helped win six Super Bowls. But it's definitely an interesting subject matter.
"If you want to put two and two together here, Brady was in the process of hiring Klint Kubiak, who was the offensive coordinator of the Seahawks at the time, and it would behoove the Raiders for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl because it makes their hire look better if Klint Kubiak is coming off of a Super Bowl championship," NFL insider Albert Breer said on 98.5 The Sports Hub. "And then, obviously, Brady had also just called the NFC title game. So Brady was in the booth for the Seahawks beating the Rams. So there was a level of communication there, too.
"...[Seahawks didn't need extra help beating the Patriots]. But there's also a level of institutional knowledge that Brady is going to have on Josh McDaniels' offense."

We were attacked for calling Tom Brady a traitor btw.
He is the GOAT, but, he has been really weird since leaving. https://t.co/UHGiYhimLe

There is quite literally nothing Tom Brady could do that would offset the 6 Super Bowls he gave us
But man is he doing his best to slowly chip away https://t.co/qKu7rx9UGg

Tom Brady would make a lot of sense unfortunately.
He was about to hire the Seattle OC Klint Kubiak to be his HC with the Raiders. https://t.co/Z9jz5A2586

It was definitely Tom Brady btw, who else would have any stakes? https://t.co/gEx5wspWqr

Tom Brady REALLY doesn’t want the Patriots to win one without him https://t.co/obPAk2nZQc

Brady selling out the Patriots to help his next coach (Kubiak) and a former Michigan coach (Macdonald) win the SB.
Absolutely tracks.

Tom Brady should be grateful he got drafted by the Patriots and to be coached by Bill Belichick with guys like Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Tedy B… MIKE VRABEL!
Instead he is STILL petty after winning a 7th ring. https://t.co/lpLzQjlSUb
