The Seattle Seahawks have capped off their 50th season in franchise history in the best way imaginable... BY WINNING SUPER BOWL LX! The Seahawks absolutely dominated the New England Patriots to the tune of 29-13 with one of the most suffocating defensive performances in Super Bowl history. Actually, it was the most dominant performance since... their last Super Bowl victory!
Seattle became the 17th franchise with at least two Super Bowls.
The most magical, dream-like postseason imaginable for the Seahawks. Seattle destroyed the 49ers in the Divisional Round, they outlasted the Rams in the NFC Championship, and earned revenge over the Patriots. Oh, not to mention, they won the Super Bowl in San Francisco's home stadium! Complete ownership of little brother for the rest of time.
Quarterback Sam Darnold completed the greatest redemption arc in NFL history. He went from a bust, cast off by five teams, to a Super Bowl champion. Running back Kenneth Walker earned Super Bowl LX honors with his 135 rushing yards and 26 receiving yards. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp is now a two-time champion, winning one for the home team. Same to Everett's own Abe Lucas! A truly tremendous moment for all.
It was a slow burn for the Seahawks, methodically building a 9-0 lead at halftime from three field goals. With how their defense was playing, Seattle's offense did not need to do much. The Patriots were completely suffocated to only 51 yards of offense and six-straight punts. Their only drive that did not result in a punt was a kneel-down to go into halftime.
Things didn't get much better for New England after Bad Bunny's performance, going three-and-out to begin the third quarter. Drake Maye and Co. were held to three more punts, before Maye lost the football on a strip sack. Derick Hall recorded his second sack of the night, and it was recovered by Byron Murphy II. Five plays later, the Seahawks had built a 19-0 lead early in the fourth quarter when Sam Darnold found AJ Barner. Both plays can be seen below.
New England wasn't done yet. It took only three plays for the Patriots to finally end the shut out, as Drake Maye got the Pats on the board. Seattle was unable to respond, and suddenly it appeared New England had momentum. However, this momentum was short lived, as Maye had his second turnover of the night with an interception directly air-mailed to Julian Love.
The Seahawks stole the momentum and capped it off with another Jason Myers field goal to make it a 22-7 game. Myers set a Super Bowl record with five field goals, and set an NFL record for most points scored in an entire season, beating LaDainian Tomlinson's 2006 record. Myers ended the year with 206 points.
It was pretty much lights-out for the Patriots, but the dagger was delivered by Uchenna Nwosu. Devon Witherspoon brought the heat once more, forcing Drake Maye to throw another interception, which was returned by Nwosu to the end zone to put an emphasis on their Super Bowl LX championship.
New England got a total garbage time score late, and did not get the two-point conversion. But by that point it was far too little, too late. Seattle's defense recorded six sacks. One from Witherspoon, two each from Derick Hall and Bryon Murphy II, and one from rookie Rylie Mills with an incredible show of strength!
The Seattle Seahawks are once again World Champions and the undisputed best team in football. They showed the world they meant business and backed it up every step of the way. Of course, we must give special shoutout to quarterback Sam Darnold, who completed the most

When the Seahawks drafted Rylie Mills, John Schneider said “if we wouldn’t have drafted him, I’m not sure if (defensive coordinator) Aden Durde would have showed up for work on Monday.” Faith well placed! pic.twitter.com/RtYaciW5Fk
