The Seattle Seahawks are getting two key reinforcement pieces on offense ahead of the NFC Championship game. On Friday morning, the Seahawks activated running back George Holani and tight end Elijah Arroyo from injured reserve, and both will be ready to go against the Los Angeles Rams.
Holani obviously takes the place of Zach Charbonnet, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve. This was the most logical course of action, simply swapping Holani for Charbonnet. As for Arroyo, rookie guard Bryce Cabeldue was placed on injured reserve to make room for him on the active 53-man roster. With Seattle dealing with a litany of injuries at left tackle, the lack of Cabeldue will make the Hawks' o-line depth even thinner than usual.
The Seahawks need these two to step up against the Rams on Sunday. Seattle's ground attack is finally rolling after being rather inconsistent for most of the year, and Charbonnet has largely been a factor in this resurgence. Holani has an outstanding opportunity to step right in and show the NFL why the Seahawks think so highly of him. As for Arroyo, Seattle's passing attack is in need of someone else to step up behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and even Cooper Kupp. The Miami receiving tight end has a similar opportunity to shine against a Rams secondary ripe for the picking.
