SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — SDSU and USD men’s basketball are separated by a half game in the Summit League standings and now, the two will renew the State-U rivalry.
The Coyotes sit in fifth and are coming off of an 82-75 overtime win at Kansas City. The Jackrabbits sit behind USD in sixth, falling to St. Thomas at home 77-62 on Wednesday night. The last time these two teams met was February 16, 2025 in Vermillion when SDSU took the 94-91 win. The Jacks are currently on a ten game win streak against the Coyotes.
“It’s a fun experience for me,” SDSU head coach Bryan Peterson said. “When we have them up here at our place, it’s a full house. Our fans get really into the game. Any rivalry is really fun to play in but obviously this one means a little bit more. It’ll be a really fun atmosphere here on Saturday and it’s just really fun to be a part of.”
“There’s not one game where we cash it in and have given up or folded,” USD head coach Eric Peterson said. “Everybody is here for a reason, you know, they want to win. They love USD. They’re very prideful of our team.”
SDSU and USD will tip-off Saturday night at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
