Scottie Scheffler received some heat from golf fans on Friday at the PGA Championship.
Scheffler is well-placed at the midway stage of the PGA Championship after posting rounds of 67 and 71 at Aronimink.
The 29-year-old world number one is currently sitting three shots adrift of the leader, Aldrich Potgieter, with two rounds left to play.

However, Scheffler struggled with his driver on day two at Aronimink and didn’t hit a fairway until his ninth hole of the day.
After his round, he made it very clear just how difficult he found the challenge to be on Friday at Aronimink.
Scottie Scheffler under fire from golf fans after ‘absurd’ comments
After his second round, Scheffler labelled some of the pins at Aronimink on day two as ‘absurd’.
He had a point as well. Many of the world’s best golfers have really struggled at the PGA Championship this week.
However, some golf fans took issue with the world number one’s comments.
“You are the number 1 golfer in the world. Would Tiger moan about pin placements after round 2? No,“ one fan said.
And many comments echoed a similar sentiment.
One fan stated: “It’s a major for crying out loud. Pro golfers are absolutely insufferable at Majors. 4x a year the course has an opportunity to win and they whine like a bunch of babies. Pathetic.“
While another said: “Ben Kern plays once a week and shot a 67 with the same pins.“

“He has become so insufferable it’s sad. Was so down to earth. Do everything I can to root against this guy,“ another fan exclaimed.
Another fan shared a similar opinion, saying: “Does he think he’s playing different pins than everyone else?“
And the comments kept coming, with fans stating: “I’m so done with his complaints when he plays poorly,“ and, “This guy used to be so likeable and now all of a sudden he’s ruining his previous reputation. It was the same course for everyone.“
Another fan simply said: “These country club kids are so soft.“
Criticism of Scottie Scheffler is totally unfair
Some golf fans react to what players say without actually listening to their message.
Sure, Scheffler said Aronimink was playing incredibly difficult on Friday, but he never said the golf course setup was unfair.
In fact, he said the complete opposite.
Scheffler responded when asked if he thought the setup on Friday was ‘unfair’.
“I mean, not unfair,“ the world number one responded.
“I mean, I think the only time in our game where it’s unfair is like if you get wind starting to blow the ball off of greens. I hadn’t seen that yet. It looks like the wind’s going to die down as the week goes on. I don’t think we’ll see that this week.
“It’s funny sometimes, I feel like the thing in our game right now, which I do enjoy, I love hard tests of golf, but it’s also the hardest game in the world and we’re trying to make it harder, and there’s different ways you can do that. You can do that on a golf course like this — I mean, I truly believe they could have the winning score be whatever they want it to be. It could be over par if they want it to be, just based purely upon pin locations.
“Is that the best test? Who knows. It’s a different test. I think that’s what’s great about our game is very rarely do we play the same golf course, and even when you do at a place like Augusta, it’s different each and every year. So conditions are always changing, the golf course is always changing. I think it’s the hardest game in the world and still just trying to solve a bit of the puzzle.“
The criticism aimed at Scottie Scheffler after his second round at the PGA Championship was completely unfair.
All he said was that the pins were tucked away in difficult positions, and he was absolutely spot on with that observation.
