NORTH BERWICK, Maine — One more meet, two more records for the Exeter High School girls track team.

The Exeter girls 4x800-meter relay team of Lexi Paterna, Bri Paterna, Izzie Bremer and Madie Poteet placed first at the New England Interscholastic Track & Field Championship, clocking a meet-record time of 8 minutes, 57.01 seconds on Saturday, June 13 at Noble High School.

The previous record of 9:05.30 was set by La Salle Academy of Providence, R.I., in 2014.

Exeter’s 4x400 relay team of Lexi Paterna, Bremer, Poteet and Martelle McBride also turned in a strong showing, placing fifth in 3:56.94. The time broke the quartet’s previous school record of 3:57.68, set earlier this season at the Clipper Relays in Portsmouth.

KITTERY, Maine — Maddy Rohan, Sam Latchaw and Keira Durgin each scored two goals to lead Traip in its Class C quarterfinal win.

Traip will face top-seeded Maranacook/Winthrop in the semifinal round. Maranacook/Winthrop advanced with a 22-2 win over No. 8 Lincoln Academy.

Shea Johnson and Lucy Bolanos each added a goal for the Rangers, while Maddy Guay made seven saves.
