Santa Teresa's Jocelyn Gonzalez has been voted as the best girls basketball player in the Las Cruces area for the 2025-26 season.

Gonzalez was among 25 nominees in the poll from Las Cruces, Mayfield, Organ Mountain, Centennial, Mesilla Valley Christian, Gadsden, Santa Teresa, Chaparral and Hatch Valley. She received 31.51% of the vote and collected 88,520 total votes.

Organ Mountain's Gabriella Herrera finished second with 79,503 votes. Mayfield's Ashlyn Maya finished third with 35,967 votes. The poll ran from April 16 to May 3.

Gonzalez was a key player for the Desert Warriors throughout the season. She had multiple games with double-digit points. This was the junior's second season on Santa Teresa's varsity team, according to MaxPreps rosters.

Gonzalez received an honorable mention on the 2025-26 Las Cruces Sun-News Girls Basketball Super Team. She was one of two Desert Warriors selected to the team, the other being Danielle Galindo.
