Centennial's Anthony Eres has been voted as the best boys basketball player in the Las Cruces area for the 2025-26 season.
Eres was among 29 nominees in the poll from Las Cruces, Mayfield, Organ Mountain, Centennial, Mesilla Valley Christian, Gadsden, Santa Teresa, Chaparral, and Hatch Valley. He received a majority of the vote at 59.89% and collected 22,282 total votes.
Centennial's Koulie Tou finished second with 8,562 votes. Mesilla Valley Christian's Cameron Evaro finished third with 5,064 votes. The poll ran from April 14 to May 3.

Eres, a junior, averaged 9.3 points per game this past season to rank third among Hawks. He scored double-digit points in 14 games, including a season-high 20 points against Alamogordo on Jan. 20 and 16 points against Las Cruces on Feb. 20 in a 65-53 win that clinched the regular-season District 3-5A championship for Centennial.
Eres also shot 43% from the field and tallied 271 points, 45 rebounds, 37 steals, 14 assists, and one block. He played in all 29 games for the Hawks.
Eres was an honorable mention on the 2025-26 Las Cruces Sun-News Boys Basketball Super Team, becoming one of four Centennial players to be given the honor.
